Miriam Gorissen (born 21-09-1967) followed the HBO teacher training (Drawing, crafts and textile work forms) in Tilburg. She is the mother of two children and gives workshops and courses, among other things. She tries to draw every day or to be involved with art in some way, she finds her relaxation here.
The most recent work can be called realistic. Miriam often makes dog portraits, but also finds it incredibly inspiring to draw people. This is a challenge every time. She often works on assignment and for this the customer delivers a photo (of good quality) and Miriam then works from the photo. Sometimes she takes the photo herself, if the customer does not have a good quality photo.
It also happens that people have seen her work at an exhibition or through social media and that a work of art that Miriam had made for herself is being sold. She prefers A4 format and prefers to work with graphite pencils, but in general there is more demand for color portraits, for which Miriam uses polychromos pencils.
